In the never ending effort to offer more and mroe valued online tools, and corner any aspect of teh market they see as popular, Google is intdroucing G-Drive in 2009.
Mych like Rapidshare, Megaupload, A-Drive, and countless other online file storage services, G-Drive will allow enough storage space to back up your entire hard drive (of course with some limitations, somewhere).
More: Chicago (IL) – Google Drive, or Gdrive as it is better known, has to be the most anticipated Google product so far. When it arrives, Gdrive will likely cause a major paradigm shift in how we use computers and bring Google one step closer to dethroning Windows on your desktop.
It appears that the Google vision is to offer an online storage system for you to use as a remote desktop and they seem to be aiming at a full blown Google OS, perhaps for online access only (I’m really not too sure) in an attempt to offer a Microsoft alternative.
While I use GMail for junk mail and online signups, I don’t know that I would trust my entire hard drive in their servers or through online access, however, Google has not failed me from a GMail perspective, it seems somewhat secure, is fast and does filter out some spam (not that I care for that accoutn anyway).
I have no reason to distrust Google, but my entire hard drive?
