I have a win 98 PC conected via serial port to a 3com Impact IQ ISDN modem. Pac bell is my ISP. My company gave me a NT Workstation to connect to the company to do work from home. I have to use a “secureID” randomly generated number to log into compuserve for access to the company network. I think my options are:
1) put a nic card in my win98 and run a patch cable between the two machines.Access internet via dial up through win 98 machine.
2) Buy another PC and set up as a Linux firewall/server, connect server to ISDN modem and two pc’s via small 10/100 hub.
Is there a way to configure this so my wife can surf the net through the win 98/Pacbell ISP and at the same time I can do company work via SecureID compuserve dial up?
I am also considering a DSL “always on” service.
Any suggestions?
