How to list running processes?

I am working on a desktop that seems to have a virus. It connects to the Internet (I can ping Internet servers) but I get a “404 File not found error” in IE when I try to get a net page. The OS is Windows ME. How do I get a list of the processes running and how do I end suspect processes?
