How to make MSO 2010 find a file for me?

In MSO Word 2003 I can find a file by just any part of the full file name. MSO 2010 does not seem to provide this & I have to rely on Windows Search every time I want to trace a file but I could not remember the starting few characters! Is this annoying or I am not smart enough to use MSO?
