How to read IXOS platters without using IXOS software?

Hello all,
I’m wondering if anyone has experience reading data from IXOS platters without going through the IXOS software. We have a failing jukebox and want to retreive data from a certain set of platters, Following the links from SAP to each document to retreive it would be too time consuming. I know it can be done, just don’t know the necessary commands/steps.
