How to remove wright protection on pics on my desktop

I just copied some pics off my sd card to my desktop to save them while my new camera formats my card and then it deleted all my pics. So then I tried to get them off my desktop to put back on the card and now they say wright protected and or deleted and I can only see the preview thumbnails and not the big pic. How can I get these pics release again so that I dont loose them permantly?
