Greetings –
Am recovering from vMundo/virtuMonde virus.
Happily, because I have a dual boot system, I was able to use the (mostly) uninfected Win2K drive/system to clean the WinXP system. Used NOD32 to clean my Win2K (C:) drive from D: (WinXP), and vice-versa. NOD32 now reports a clean bill of health.
But …
Two things. One, WinXP is now suddenly asking me to log in. Never did that before.
Is there an .ini or some such file that I can edit to have XP stop requiring me to log in?
I tried booting from the WinXP CD-ROM and choosing Repair, but all that did was dump me into a DOS-type prompt in the D:\Windows directory.
Two, my XP wireless LAN connectivity is FUBAR. My D-Link utility seems to find my wireless router fine, but IE and Firefox are reporting that they can’t find (e.g.) Google or any other sites.
Has anyone any ideas what files I might need to restore (and how to go about it) to get my wireless LAN working again (i.e. – which .DLLs are req’d)? The WLAN still works fine with Win2K (I’m using to write this).
Many thanks.
