HP Vectra no sound after upgrade!?

I have HP Vectras that I converted to W98 from 95. The on board sound does not work. Is there an emulator or driver that has worked for others out there to fix this. The HP site only provides W95 drivers for these Vectra VE Series 8 6/400 models. Everything else works but sound.
