Hyper-V Print server takes too long to spool jobs on a server 2012 R

I have recently migrated our business Print server to a hyper V environment that’s running on windows server 2012 R2 Server. Before this the print server was running on a stand alone server and we ad no problems with spooling but after the migration to Hyper V, the print server can take about 20 minutes to spool a 1mb job. The VM has 4 virtual processors dedicated to it and 8Gb ram. My experience with the VM environment (Hyper V to be exact) is fairly new
