Hi,
I am the one that asked the following question
“I have an IBM – thinkpad computer with BIOS Version: 1.22. In the process of learning Wins 2000 pro, I deleted an important boot file which made the computer impossible to boot. I need to change the start up to CD rom to enable me repair the operating system. I do not know how to go about it as I am not used to the system. Right now, my activities have been cripled. I need somebody to direct me on how to go to the BIOS setup and change the start up to CD Rom to enable the system boot from the CD”.
I tried what I was adviced i.e pressing f1 key. It brought out an easy setup interface. This contains the following: Config, Date/Time, Password, Start up, Test.
I chose Start upand the following came up: 4 empty boxes, FDD-1, HDD-1, Network, FDD-2, HDD-2, HDD-3, HDD-4, PCMCIA. I again choose PCMCIA, and restarted the system and it booted into an interface that had a diagram and F1 – F2 keys. When I choose any of the keys,it brought out 19990305 and it did not boot. I’m confused as I do not know what to do. I tried to implement what you adviced me to do in the web site, but none of the options appeared. May be it is because my BIOS version is 1.22. I just need an urgent reply to continue with my work
Thanks
