IE 8 Printing

Printing to a Dot matrix printer from IE8 produces an overlapped large font that is impossible to read. I have seen this problem reported in other forums but have seen no solution. To my knowledge, Microsoft has not acknowledged the problem. Has anyone seen this problem and are there any solutions (other than uninstalling IE8). Note: The printing application worked just fine in IE7.
