IE and Firefox problem

I have a pc connected to a network. it has an IP Address and i have set
the correct proxy settings for it to access the internet. i am able to ping
www.google.com and wwwteksupport.net.au

but i cant use either IE or Firefox to browse the net.

any ideas any one?????
