IE5 Corrupting Textfiles

I downloaded IE5 a couple of weeks ago and found out soon that when i use the explorer for opening a file for editing (draging it over to TextPad Editor) and saving the file , the file becomes corrupt. It look like the file is empty. This happens EACH time. Doubble clicking the file looks to work (opening the file with Notepad).

Any clues?
(i have also installed NT SP6).
