IE6 stuck at 0-bit on Win 2K

by steve.doig . Updated 20 years, 11 months ago

Hi,

I am running Windows 2000 SP4.

In the last month, IE6 has changed so that its cypher or encryption strength is 0-bit.

I have done the following to try and fix it without success:
– repaired IE6
– reinstalled IE6
– downloaded and installed Win2K High Encryption pack

I have seen the MS knowledge base article about IE having 0-bit cypher strength, but it only mentions solutions for Win98 and WinXP.

I can load secure sites using Mozilla Firefox, but I am unable to sign into MSN Messenger, receiving an error 80090305.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks,

Steve
