If I replace black cartridge, will I then have to replace other cartridges?

I have a Dell Multifunction Color laser Printer, that is telling me to replace the Black ink cartridge…and I was just wondering if after I replace the black cartridge will I then have to replace the other three color cartridges? It’s close to $3-500 to replace all four and I just don’t have that kind of money to spend right now…
