increase copy/paste speed

When I copy/paste a file between two windows w2k server over 100mb lan, the speed is 6mb-7mb per second. I upgraded both server to 1gb intel pro 1000 xf card and connect it to a gb switch, I cofirmed on switch it is running at 1gb speed. I coped the same file, the speed remain the SAME!!! 6mb-7bm for second. how can this happen????? Any help would be appreicate.
