Increasing SCSI Port time-out period

I have one NT 4.0 SP6.0a workstation that I’ve recently (3-4 mo)replaced the HDD w/a brand new WD IDE HDD. Now occasionally (every 2-3 wks)it BSOD’s with “Inaccessible_Boot_Device”. If I try enuf, it’ll eventually boot up. The event viewer displays stop msgs of: “the device – SCSIPort 0, did not respond w/i the timeout period”. I’m curious if this indicates a HDD or HDC prob. Is there any way, perhaps via a registry hack to increase this time-out period?
