Inherited a few desktops with no hard drives can I recover the original os?

I have received a few desktops from a company that has gone out of business and they have destroyed their hard drives for each comp for security reasons. I wanted to know if i can somehow use the xp id numbers on each desktops sticker to reinstall xp if I had a disk, since each comp will need a new hard drive. Otherwise I am going to install something else on each but I would like to XP if I can do that legally.

Let me know if this doesn’t make sense and I will clarify.
