Hi there,
Pc had problems so user had tried to install a fresh copy of XP. Problems were apparantly PC was rebooting by itself on the Internet at first and then on or off of the Internet problem manifested and got proggesively worse.
I am now trying to re-install a new Operating system for the user. The user requires either Windows 2000 or Windows XP doesn’t matter. However, when i try to install either operating system on the PC the PC crashes at the choose “Regional settings screen”. Same thing happens on either windows 2000 or XP install.
My first thoughts were dodgy Graphics card.
I have removed RAM and replaced with new RAM.
I have removed Graphics card and replaced new Graphics card.
User said he had already tried to install the new Operating system removing all PCI cards etc, with no joy.
My next option i think is to remove his HD and try to intsall XP/2k on this HD when i place the HD on another PC.
Can anyone throw any light on what might be happening here and how i could possibly resolve this issues
Has anyone come across thisd problem before.
Any assitance greatly appreciated.
