I recently acquired (at a reasonable price) Britannica 2009 Ready Reference. It took up 650 MB for full installation and almost as much for partial installation.
It appears to have minimal multimedia and the articles are so brief as to be useless. I have no idea why it is such a large program. In a word, it is useless.
The best CD-ROM encyclopedia I have is Grolier 1993 which came as a freebie with my first Windows 3.1 computer. The articles are comprehensive and feature cross referencing.
I am aware of, but probably couldn’t find it now, Nortons’ Virtual Drive.
Does anyone recommend this product?
What I am really after is a way to install my Grolier on the hard drive so as not to have to put it in the CD tray. Is this possible?
