Installing a Home Network Line

I installed a cat6 jack in my house and one in my shed, ran a cat6 cable between them (100ft), plugged a cat6 cable into the house jack and my modem, and plugged a cat6 cable into the shed jack and a PC. Why am I not getting Internet? This should work, right?
