Installing Windows Server 2003

I use my computer a MSI motherboard with AMD 64 processor and an older hard drive and installed the tiral version of Windows server 2003 Enterprise editionon it and it started but there was nothing on the desktop. Is this because of something in the hardware is not compatible. I am trying this as i am wanting to build a server for one of my customers.
