Installing Windows xp

I got p4m800pro-m ECS Elitgroup motherboard and it was installed windows 2000 when i want to put windows xp it does not want to boot it just keep restart but when i remove cd from drive it easily goes to windows 2000 as like there is no problem in system but i can’t install windows xp. Please help
