The following happens when installing some applications that use Installshield on my W2K professional workstation:
After running setup.exe, the small dialogue box pops up that says something like “Setup is preparing the Installshield wizard…” anddissappears after it hits 100%, as it should. But then nothing happens for at least 30 minutes, and then the install wizard may all of a sudden continue with the main installation.
THe process is definitely sitting in the background doing nothing during this time. In Task Manager/Processes it shows up as issetup.exe under ntvdm.exe.
Has anyone run into this? I am wondering if it because it is a 16bit version of Installshield. The last application that did this was SecureCast 5.0, which is their latest version.
