insufficient data for an image adobe

I have a Ricoh printer multifunction . Had hard drives replaced by service tech since then when we scan to email or a folder on a pc Documents can not be opend by Adobe Reader. Getting insufficient Data for an image. Can this be a problem with the firmware on the hard drives causing this.. Everything was working prior to the disk drives being replaced.
