Internet Explorer 6 keeps crashing

WinXP SP2 system and IE6 keeps crashing seemingly whenever I go to a web page that has anything more than basic html, ie google loads fine, msn.com loads fine, but yahoo, ebay and other web sites crash the browser. The error is always:
AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2800.1106 ModName: browseui.dll
ModVer: 6.0.2800.1106 Offset: 00001a11
I have done searches on the browseui.dll message and tried many things including regsver.bat, re-install IE using the procedures on MS support site, installed v7, same problem. Uninstalled v7.
Any ideas appreciated. Firefox of course works fine. Thanks-Jeff
