Internet Explorer and Pictures

On various flavors of Windows, pictures displayed in IE sometimes shows larger than the screen can handle (my pics are 3000x in resolution) but on some other PCs the show a viewable picture, as Firefox does. All my PCs are XPSP2. One PC in IE shows pictures at a viewable size. Another does not and both IE settings are the same for the one that says “Enable Automatic Image Resizing”.
Any idea how to get IE to display images in a viewable size?
