Intranet Problem.

by lintadsl . Updated 25 years, 1 month ago

I have NT 4.0 PDC with IIS4.0 installed.
I have NT workstations and a couple Mac machines. NT wrks can see the intrant.
Mac (8.6) can not see the intranet but when I type IP address of my PDC on IE5, it see the intranet page. When I type meridian on IE5, it goes to www.meridian.com automatically.
So what I did is;
In Control-panel from MAC, I seleted HOSTs file and it say invaild type “meridian” which is hosts header of my intranet.
Hosts file has one line as below;
192.168.1.2 meridian
I can not seleted with this format so I changed the order such as;
meridian 192.168.1.2
then I could be able to selelte but still I can not browse.

Any idea would be appreciated.
