Iomega external hard drive making weird noises & not reading

Ok so my iomega 500GB external hard drive has started making weird noises, loud clunky noises as well as a noise like a marble dropping (very odd) when I hold it at a different angle it whirs really loudly but still doesnt read. I have no ideas about computers, so is it screwed and have I lost all the stuff on it or is there a way of fixing it? I havent had it long so it is still under guarantee. I really hope it can be fixed.
Oh and when it does read it comes up as local disk (f) but with no files and you cant even make a new folder on it.

Please help :(.
