IP Management (IPAM) Using Excel Spread Sheets? ACCESS?

I work for a company that is looking into different solutions for IP Management for about 5000 nodes. Our DNS & DHCP is taken care of, and we are strictly looking for something to keep track of our IP addresses. We currently employ Excel spreadsheet, but I was wondering what other companies use and if anyone thought Microsoft Access might be a good solution.
