IR Hotsync Problem with IBM T21

I have a SONY Clie S360, and a T21 IBM Laptop. I am trying to sync my palm through the infrared port, but cannot seem to do it. I have tried adjusting all the setting and follwing the instruction in the help, but cannot sync.
