Is it possible to have some kind of magnetic IOT Smart Lock?

Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to have get access to some kind IOT smart lock for shared items. For example crowd sharing umbrella, so the umbrella will be unlocked once a user rent it using an app of some sort. Does such lock exist?
