Is my DVD-rom spoilt or just…?

I have failed to read certain disc for a few weeks back but was able to read most of the disc. Recently, I’ve found out that it is unable to read all kind CD/DVD roms. Device manager shows that it is working properly and the drive can still be seen in My Computer. Is the player spoilt?
