Is there a software fix for a broken wifi switch?

So I’ve come across multiple laptops with broken wireless switches. I’ve also seen many answers that require taking apart the computer, or reinstalling drivers and such.

I want to know…is there a way to enable wireless without the switch? Maybe a line in the registry? Command at the command prompt? Or, here’s a thought for an overpriced OS…a software toggle?
