Java Beginner = Stupid Question

Okay, I just started looking into learning Java…there is just soooo much cool stuff out there, that I have to do it. At any rate, I found a cool clock cursor Java script that I wanted to reverse engineer & tweak, but I cannot seem to get it to work at all.
