keep same windows7 on sysmtem after a monther board change?

hi there im just wondering is it possible to keep the same windows 7 on my system after ive change motherboar since windows 7 is using the new wim tech.lets say i boot the machine to safe mode or command promp and run sysrep to oobe and restart the machine would that strip out all the drivers and keep my docs or from cmd maually strip out the driver for the motherboard?
