Keyboard issue

I have an older Asus laptop that had what I thought was a keyboard issue where it does the below example …
What it does …

qwerty456*
asdfgh123
zxcvbn0

What it should do

qwertyuiop
asdfghjkl
zxcvbnm

The keybopard has been replaced with a new one. It does not do this with a USB keyboard plugged in. Any suggestions on how to resolve this?
