Laptop battery not charging

by chyann . Updated 15 years, 1 month ago

This is my laptop information as collected by Techguy.org:

OS Version: Microsoft?? Windows Vista??? Home Premium , Service Pack 2, 32 bit
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU T2370 @ 1.73GHz, x64 Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 13
Processor Count: 2
RAM: 2037 Mb
Graphics Card: Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family, 448 Mb
Hard Drives: C: Total – 114431 MB, Free – 68579 MB;
Motherboard: Dell Inc., 0U990C, , .9DFVNF1.CN7016685602XP.
Antivirus: AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 2011, Updated and Enabled

My laptop battery will not charge with my original adapter so I bought a new one, along with a new battery.

Right now the laptop is running with no battery installed per a question from 2007: “If it’s not giving you a good connection, it won’t allow the laptop to charge the battery. Try taking the battery out and powering the computer only through the power adapter.”, proving the power jack is ok.

Now what else could it be?
