Linking Excel to Outlook e-mails

I’ve been a member for sometime, but has been quite a while since I have worked this indepth with Office Suite. Thanks in advance for any advice you can give about this.

I am setting up an Excel spreadsheet which has information for individuals. Is there a way to link the individuals in the spreadsheet to any e-mails (especially multiple e-mails) received in Outlook, particularly single archived files set up in Outlook for each individual? I don’t expect that it would do this automatically, but I’m not really clear as to how I could make it work. Is there an efficient way to do this, or do I need to save the e-mails as a document, make a file for each individual, and then link the spreadsheet to the file?
