Links in OE msgs don’t open IE pages

When I receive an email message in OE 6 that contains a link, clicking on that link does nothing! I have to drag the link to an open session of IE6 and drop it on the Address bar. Initially the system worked just fine. Not aware that I did anything to change it. Running Windows XP without any SPs.
