Looking for a very old install monitor application

I am looking for a very, very old application that I used to have to monitor installations. It would detect both new (or missing) files in system folders and changes to the Registry. It was something from the mid-90s, from the Win95 era. Googling isn’t helping much. Can someone here please help me remember what it was called exactly?
