Mac Network Slow After W2K Server Change

by msimone69 . Updated 23 years, 1 month ago

Hello all,

Our network at work is a mixture of Mac servers (2) and workstations (~18) and Windows servers (4) and workstations (~24). The Macs are all on their own switch, seperate from the Windows machines. Two weeks ago, we switched over fromour old NT4 servers to new Windows 2000 servers. We also moved the Mac workstations from a mix of DHCP and static IPs to all DHCP, but left the Mac servers with their existing static IPs. Several people complained to me today about extreme slowness opening files on the Mac servers, although they say this has been going on since the change. Is there a problem using DHCP from Windows servers with so many Macs? Is there any other network configuration that could be the culprit?

Any direction is resolving this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Mike Simone
