Manually map network drive in a script

i have remote users that are using a vpn to get past our firewall. i need to create a script that the user can execute to manually map their network drives for them. i attempted to map from within explorer but it lasts only while logged in. next time the user dials in, the mapped drives don’t reappear in the explorer window. i have tried “net use ….” but the drives don’t appear in explorer.
