Max Registry Size

Our network is running a NT4.0 PDC and several BDC’s. Last week our entire base lost power. The servers were all on UPS’s. They stayed up until the power was restored. Since then, we have had several hundred nt4.0 workstations that have had problems where the max registry size has been reached. Getting corrupted profile errors. Found document q189119 on microsofts tech support site. We know how to fix the problem, but not sure why all of a sudden this is an issue with the systems. The machines we have increased in max rsl, have had there registry’s continue to grow. Any help would be appreciated.
