I have a user for whom the Menu bar becomes a floating toolbar every time she tries to launch a new message, a reply, or a forward in Outlook 2003. However, unchecking “Use MS Office Word 2003 to edit email messages” provides a temporary fix; as soon as she selects Word as the editor again, the behavior is back. This behavior is not repeated when she opens a new Word document.
I am sure I have missed some setting somewhere within the vast number of checkboxes under Tools>Options, but for the life of me, I can’t figure this out. I also haven’t had any luck Googling this, as the one suggestion for resetting the Menu and Toolbar usage data from Tools> Customize did nothing.
Does anyone know of a setting in Word that would cause this behavior? Her PC is running Windows XP and MS Office 2003 Professional Edition, with SP3.
