Microsoft Access Query help please

by megan26 . Updated 21 years, 4 months ago

I have a query based on three different tables of data (Officers, MTD and YTD). I took one officer and followed his information through the query to ensure the data was correct. The fields for many of the columns are either “grouped by” or “summed” in order to collapse the records. When I run my query, I get two lines. All of the information on these two lines is the same for this officer except for the MTD Grand Total (4 for one and zero for the other). This field is being grouped. The “4” figure is correct now if they would just sum to equal four it would be correct. I double checked the types for all the fields and they agree and the total fields are long integers. When I “sum” that field, the query brings back the figure “24” and then my YTD Grand Total is doubled too. What is wrong with the query?
