MMC Problem

Here there all,

I currently have a problem with Windows XP home. When I try to defrag an error appears as follows:

“MMC Cannot open the file C:\WINDOWS\System32\dfrg.msc” I get the same kind of error when I try to open Device Manager, Search and several other things.

Please could anyone help me with this problem?
