MS Acc97 – Sending email with SendObject

I have tried to use the DoCmd.SendObject function without having too much success. I am currently using it with Lotus Notes R5 (because that’s what we use at work) on a Win98 PC.

The message gets to the email account ok, but not too long after (2-4 min), MS Access has an Illegal Operation error spit and shuts down. Without any other mod’s, I have no reason to suspect it is anything other than the SendObject process.
Does Notes (or the system that eventually receives the email) send back a FYI confirmation message?
Why is this happening?
How do I prevent the Illegal Operation?
