MSAccess and utilizing memory

I am using MSAccess 97 and running some complex queries on a dataset of 150000 records. I noticed that MSAccess grabs 24Mb of memory to do the processing and that is all it will utilize. I am running on a dual processor machine with 1 gb of memory. Is there a way to configure MSAccess to utilize more memory. Today it can take up to 2 weeks for this to process. We are tuning the queries but I can’t understand the memory issue. Any assistance would be appreciated.
