I have had my hp dv6000 series laptop for a year now and everything has been working ok.
Suddenly I go to record a data dvd and windows media player cannot locate any installed dvd drives.
I am stumped.
Under device manager there is no DVD or CD drive icons or anything. I went to “add hardware”, no DVD drive option either.
I am running power iso and recently uninstalled it because under “my computer” it showed two mounted drives even though the main DVD/CD drive was missing. this is crazy.
Did my computer just take a shit?
So I did a clean install with my operating system because I thought that would alleviate my problems. Still, no dvd drive letter under ‘my computer’, no nothing….
The cd/dvd drive opens with I push the button. It even sounds like it is reading the disks index, but nothing comes up on screen.
Again, I’m stumped.
If anyone can help that would be great.
